In this special series, students will create three separate projects, one of which will be sumitted into the Junior Wildflife Art Exhibit "Portraits or Animals" and /or "Animals in their Natural Environment".  Students will be encouraged to bring together the components of nature, preservation, and biology with various art forms.

Printmaking Painting Mixed Media

Offering different mediums Marilee Ragland's students create in papier-mache, collage, watercolor and tempera, oil pastel and chalk pastel. “I teach a lot of principles such as what makes a good composition, a good design, and color harmonies.”Marilee Ragland had a 35 year career teaching elementary school. Since retiring, she has been teaching art to children for the past 16 years and presenting art workshops for teachers. Her students have participated in many exhibits at the Homework Center at Fallbrook Public Library, the Fallbrook Jr. Wildlife Show and in San Diego at the Art Institute in Balboa Park, at the San Diego County Office of Education and at the San Diego County Fair.  Many of her students have won prestigious awards. Marilee was awarded an Artissimo Choice Award by the San Diego California Art Education Association in 2011 and an Award of Merit for Exemplifying and Promoting Excellence in Visual Arts Education by the California Art Education Association in 2014. Teaching children's art is her passion!
