Create an amazing 5 layer landscape! In this workshop you will learn all about firing multiple layers to create amazing depth. There will be a tutorial and short lecture about firing schedules and stacking a 5 layer project. We will be using Rayzist photomasks to etch three separate layers of glass and then fill with fusible enamels. These individual layers get fired overnight and then on Sunday we will trim and stack them in the kiln using fiber blanket and dams after powder sifting a base layer and capping with a thin clear top. This class will require an additional open studio session enrollment (not included in this fee) as these thick projects will need to be trimmed with the diamond saw and finished in with the belt sander or diamond lap. They include two firings in the kiln.
Note: View our Classes and Workshops list to sign up for an Open Studio Session - Glass Studio at your convenience. Take into consideration that your glass piece needs to be fired in the kiln first before trimming and polishing.
Please email Susan with any questions about the workshop at firstname.lastname@example.org
