Art Journals give us an invitation to develop basic techniques and build skills needed to express ourselves. We'll start with watermedia painting techniques in your art journals. We'll then explore drawing, writing and painting techniques, creative mixed media images that will build up your confidence to express your thoughts. Explore journaling in a relaxed fun atmosphere. This class will focus on sketching and painting basic forms with pencil, pen and ink, paint, collage and colored pencils. We'll go out on location to draw and paint to experiece pure nature and atmosphere.

Butcher metal tray or plastic palette.
Large water container
#2b soft pencil and soft eraser
Brushes: At least 2 round watercolor brushes: #14, #12, or #10, 1” flat watercolor brush and at least 2 medium size rounds and a 1” flat for acrylic medium and gesso.
Paper: Watercolor- journal at least 9 x 12. Hot pressed paper. Good brands are Stillman and Birn, the Zeta series will work the best OR Strathmore mixed media visual journal
Pigments: Suggested professional grade paint palette (do the best you can according to your budget.)
