About the event
Dolls have been important in all cultures throughout the world, and still remain so. Though they are often used for play, they have had many other uses and meanings throughout history. In this workshop we will make our own “Good Luck” Dolls using a sock, air dry clay, and a variety of found objects. First we will cover some of the history of dolls and their meanings throughout different cultures, then we will make a face for our doll out of clay. After those dry we will start stuffing the sock bodies and preparing to embellish them, paint our faces and then attach them to the sock body, and finally add hair, beads, and any other found objects that you want to include.
