Ashley Scibilia is a multidisciplinary artist and educator whose work bridges the realms of fine art, digital media, and traditional craft. With a foundation in character animation from the California Institute of the Arts, studying art in Italy and France, and over a decade of teaching experience, her practice is both expansive and deeply intentional. Ashley approaches each medium—from acrylics and gouache to ceramics and digital animation—not as separate disciplines, but as interconnected tools for storytelling, exploration, and emotional resonance. Her artistry is grounded in process and experimentation, and she encourages her students to find freedom and identity through the act of making art.
As an educator, Ashley is committed to nurturing creativity in others by equipping students with a rich, technical vocabulary across diverse media. Whether guiding her students through ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpting, glass, creating portfolios, clay animation, digital photography, or leading community workshops in jewelry making, fused glass, mosaics, mixed media and crafts, she emphasizes both craftsmanship and personal voice. Her pedagogy blends classical training with modern innovation—merging traditional drawing techniques with tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Painter, Final Cut Pro, and 3D modeling software. Ashley's classrooms are immersive creative labs, where students learn not just how to create art, but how to think critically, adapt fluidly, and express authentically. Ashley has taught an award winning television Production class for high school students where Ashley and her students were featured in “California Educator” magazine for acquiring the CNN Television set.
Beyond the classroom, Ashley continues to evolve as an artist, recently publishing adult coloring books that reflect her love of whimsical illustration and fantasy. Her background in animation through Disney’s school, coupled with her hands-on knowledge of Life Drawing, sculpture, jewelry-making, ceramics, glass fusing, mosaics, epoxy resin, stained glass, etching, sand blasting, bronze casting, silver metal clay, printmaking, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, and world arts, informs a uniquely holistic perspective. As a member of numerous artistic communities, like ASIFA, Pastel Society of San Diego, The WaterColor Society of San Diego, The Walnut Creek Glass & Clay Arts Guild, she remains an advocate for lifelong learning and cultural dialogue through art. For Ashley, creativity is a way of life—a dynamic force that connects the past, shapes the present, and inspires the future.
