Randall Reese grew up on the Central Coast of California and from a very early age had two main desires: make art and play. Randall grew up surrounded by stained glass. Before his birth his mother worked for a well known stained glass artist in LA who catered to a celebrity clientele. His favorite work is a collaboration between his mother and father which he still has.
Along his path of discovery, he has explored many avenues, but those two main desires remain and after finding his passion for glass Randall realized he could do both.
Randall graduated SDSU in 2014 with a Bachelors in Applied Design. His work in glass has been an exploration in light and color. He is interested in the form and function of objects and how they can be used to communicate his often whimsical thoughts and observations.
One of Randall’s greatest stained glass achievements was working for Bera Stained Glass on the restoration of the stained glass window of the First Presbyterian Church in San Diego entitled “Christ the Sower.” The 100 year old window is three stories tall and the project took an entire year to complete. Randall is thankful for Brian and Nicole Canfield for the faith, mentorship, and opportunity that they gave him.
