About the event

Join Adam Bishop this summer for the next Hot Summer Nights series on alternative ceramic firing techniques.
This class is intended for potters and sculptors who already have some experience working with the medium. The emphasis of this class is on firing outside of the electric and gas kilns most commonly used in modern studios. There will be little to no instruction on clay basics. For three weeks, we will study and perform three different firing techniques including horse hair raku, obvara, and pit firing. This is an opportunity to learn and practice ancient techniques with some modern twists as we explore the potentials of these firing methods together.
